Pravin Kumar

Pravin received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry from University of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. In 2015, he completed his MTech (Chemistry) from IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India and in early 2016, joined the research group of Dr. Manmohan Kapur at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal, India, and completed his PhD in 2021, in the area of transition metal mediated C–H functionalization in N-heterocycle synthesis. Thereafter, in March, 2022, Pravin join the research group of Prof. Chandra M. R. Volla at IIT Bombay, for his Postdoctoral studies, where he worked in allene chemistry. On the 1st of September 2023, Pravin started his postdoctoral fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Łukasz Woźniak at Jagiellonian University, Kraków.
Suman Sar

Suman received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Midnapore College (now autonomous), affiliated with Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, India, in 2013. He then completed his Master’s degree in Chemistry at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Uttar Pradesh, India, in 2015. In 2016, he joined Professor Prasanta Ghorai’s research group at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal), where he pursued his PhD, completing it in 2023. His doctoral research focused on “Stereoselective Intramolecular Umpolung Cascade Cyclization for the Synthesis of Substituted 1-Indanones.” Afterward, he continued his research in the same laboratory until 2024, exploring “Asymmetric Bifunctional Organocatalysis for the Synthesis of Enantioenriched Hetero- and Carbocycles”. On January 10, 2025, Suman began his postdoctoral studies at Jagiellonian University, Kraków, under the mentorship of Dr. Łukasz Woźniak.
Howard Yoav Díaz Salazar

Howard earned his degree in Chemistry from the Faculty of Chemistry at UAEMex in 2014. He then obtained his master's (2017) and doctoral (2021) degrees in Chemistry, both under the supervision of Dr. Marcos Hernández-Rodríguez at UNAM’s Institute of Chemistry. His doctoral research focused on designing and studying bifunctional organocatalysts with benzyl-like fragments and their application in the synthesis of five-membered carbocycles. In 2024, he completed a postdoctoral stay under the supervision of Dra. Susana Porcel-García, investigating the catalytic activity of gold(III) species in arylation reactions and heterocycle synthesis. Since February 2025, Howard started a postdoctoral stay under the supervision of Dr. Łukasz Woźniak at Jagiellonian University in Kraków.
PhD Students
Rajat Shankhdhar

Rajat obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Ramjas College, Delhi University, India, 2019. Then he came to IIT Ropar for his Master’s degree and joined the IC research group under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Indranil Chatterjee in August 2020 to fulfil his M.Sc. project at the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, India, where he worked on Photoredox Catalysis. After completing his master thesis, he joined a Research and Development Department at VIVA Active Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd. where he worked as a chemist for one year. Since December 2022, he is a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Dr. Łukasz Woźniak at Jagiellonian University, Krakow.
Anna Iagarmina

Anna obtained her Master’s degree (2013) from the Faculty of Chemistry of Kazan Federal University (Russia). Her research was dedicated to the selective functionalization of calixarenes. Afterwards, she worked as a researcher in oilfield chemistry at ChampionX company for 6 years. In 2021, she moved to Krakow and worked as a synthetic organic chemist at CRO Selvita for 2 years. Her tasks included stereoselective synthesis of small molecules – drug candidates library for screening purposes. Since October 2023, she has been a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Dr. Łukasz Woźniak at Jagiellonian University, Krakow.
